Crisis Praying
When a crisis hits, it’s easy to panic or throw in the towel. Jehoshaphat’s prayer in 2 Chronicles 20 offers a powerful model for us.
Faced with an overwhelming army, Jehoshaphat didn’t rush into battle. Instead, he gathered the people, acknowledged their helplessness, and called on God for help. He didn’t just ask for deliverance; he praised God AND reminded God of His promises to protect His people.
Praise often shifts our perspective. It doesn’t always change the problem, but it helps us remember who God is—faithful, powerful, and in control. God didn’t promise an easy path, but He did promise to be with us in the battle.
Making it personal:
Where in your circumstance would humbly acknowledging your dependence on God and trusting that He will guide you, no matter how impossible the situation seems make a difference?
