How to Start a Prayer

Prayer doesn’t have to start from a place of perfection. It begins right where you are—broken, weary, disappointed, uncertain, excited or joyful. In Romans 8:26-28, we’re told that the Holy Spirit prays for us, even when we don’t know what to pray.

The Spirit aligns our hearts with God’s will, even in moments of confusion or pain. When we don’t have the right words, the Holy Spirit speaks for us, guiding us toward God’s ultimate good—whether that’s the outcome we want or not.

There’s power in admitting our limits and trusting that God’s power far exceeds our own. It’s not about knowing the right words or having a perfect plan; it’s about turning to God and acknowledging that He holds the answers we lack. In our weakness, God’s strength shines the brightest.

Making it Personal:

Starting where you are, where do you need to trust that God sees

you and believe that He is faithful?

Remember you don’t have to be “okay” to pray. God meets you in

tour mess, helping you grow through the struggle.
