ESL Classes
At Olathe Wesleyan Church, we believe language has the power to open doors, build friendships, and strengthen communities. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are designed to help adults grow in confidence as they practice speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
Whether you are brand new to English or looking to continue developing your skills, you are welcome here.
A Place to Learn and Belong
We are grateful to live in a diverse and multicultural community. Many individuals and families come to Johnson County for work, education, business opportunities, or to build a new life. Our ESL program exists to help support that journey by creating a safe and friendly place where people from many cultures and backgrounds can learn together.
Our classes are more than language instruction. They are a community built on kindness, encouragement, mutual respect, and meaningful relationships.
What to Expect
Our ESL classes include:
English conversation practice with native speakers
Reading, writing, listening, and vocabulary development
Literacy-level assessments to help place students in the right class
Structured and supportive classroom environments
Opportunities to build friendships and connect with others in the community
Caring teachers and volunteers who want to see you succeed
New students and volunteers are always welcome!
