ESL Classes

At Olathe Wesleyan Church, we believe language has the power to open doors, build friendships, and strengthen communities. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are designed to help adults grow in confidence as they practice speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English in a welcoming and encouraging environment.

Whether you are brand new to English or looking to continue developing your skills, you are welcome here.

A Place to Learn and Belong

We are grateful to live in a diverse and multicultural community. Many individuals and families come to Johnson County for work, education, business opportunities, or to build a new life. Our ESL program exists to help support that journey by creating a safe and friendly place where people from many cultures and backgrounds can learn together.

Our classes are more than language instruction. They are a community built on kindness, encouragement, mutual respect, and meaningful relationships.

What to Expect

Our ESL classes include:

  • English conversation practice with native speakers

  • Reading, writing, listening, and vocabulary development

  • Literacy-level assessments to help place students in the right class

  • Structured and supportive classroom environments

  • Opportunities to build friendships and connect with others in the community

  • Caring teachers and volunteers who want to see you succeed

New students and volunteers are always welcome!
